MC5 & the Detroit Jams

The Motor City 5, live and loud at the Grande — the recordings, the tee, and the film, straight from the source. Shot and produced by UEF founder Allen Licari.

The story

The sound of Detroit, 1967–1969.

The MC5 were the house band of a revolution — managed by John Sinclair, born out of Detroit’s Grande Ballroom, and captured here in historic live recordings and photographs. This is the flagship of the Kick Out the Jams archive, and every purchase funds the Save the Bees™ rescue.
